How do digital thermometers show temperature without mercury

Digital thermometers are best known for their faster results than mercury thermometers, which take
time to show readings as you have to wait for the mercury to heat and then slowly rise to display the temperature.
Digital thermometers use metal components and advanced technology to provide quick results. Metal has natural heat resistance.
It is a temperature measuring device that uses an electronic circuit. It works similar to other thermometers, wherein the captured information is sent to a microchip that processes it and displays the reading in numerical form on the digital display screen.
