It typically consists of a set of spinning cups or blades mounted on a vertical pole or frame. As the wind blows, it causes the cups or blades to rotate, and the speed of the wind is determined by measuring the number of rotations per unit time. The most common type of anemometer uses a set of three or four cups that are mounted on a vertical shaft. As the wind blows, the cups rotate around the shaft, and the speed of the wind is determined by the number of rotations per minute (RPM) of the cups. This information is then used to calculate the wind speed in miles per hour, kilometers per hour, or other units of measurement.
