A manifold gauge is a tool that is used to control the flow of pressure or gas. Manifold pressure is the pressure at which the fuel -air mixture is forced into cylinders while filling them.

Nowadays you find Smart Digital Manifold with Bluetooth that have temperature clamps that connect to the liquid line and suction line and have built-in pressure-temperature charts. You just need to set the gauge what refrigerant you are testing, hook up the hoses and temp clamps, and get live instant readings of superheat and sub cooling.

Basically, the primary application of manifold gauges is to be used in monitoring heating or cooling systems, especially, the pressure of refrigerants.
